INTROCPECTIVE
Performance Video Bauhaus Theatre Workshop 2022
In a nearly closed and rigidly regimented world, the body solidifies into a mechanical existence, filled with doubt, contemplation, and examination. But how can a machine introspect, self-observe, and self-examine? Spiraling mirrors of paper coil downward, with the hem of the skirt at the bottom extending outward into multiple shapes of shadows. The self-observer becomes a clock, the body turning into the pendulum arm, constantly bending, approaching, distancing, rotating, moving, repeatedly examining the mirror's reflection of the self, tracing, moving, changing. Shadows growing from the body intersect, overlap, crisscross, cover, resonate, break through, until the final chime of the clock, leaving behind the trajectory of motion in the midst of unresolved time.
